Sameera

Kill us or die,

But don't make us suffer,

We can’t afford any buffer.

Have mercy, IGCSE

You seem very calm,

But you are a bomb,

You are útil, yet so dificíl,

We need you but we hate you.

Although you decide our future, it doesn’t mean we should fear you

Wait till I address my test, you will come to fear me.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I am currently studying IGCSE, and whenever I feel anything is difficult, I get very frustrated about why we should do IGCSE! Just when I was feeling this way, I wrote this poem, and many people around me connected with it. I want to let everyone in the world feel stress relief when they read my poem. To assure them that they are not the only ones who feel this way.

    I too, relate
    it's prudent, that you realise
    however important
they may be to your immediate
    future
    your results will never define
    your worth!
simply do your best, for yourself
    no one else
just to minimise any possible, future
    regret
    then, move on
    exams, and credentials like everything
    in life
are merely a set of tools, for you
    to utilise
in curating, the life you want
    for yourself
They Will NOT, define Your Worth!
