Bridging the Chasm

Ananya Jain

You and I speak in different languages.
Our words became entangled like a knot,
In a web of miscommunications,

That we can't seem to untangle.

Our hearts ache with each clash, each one a blow to our frail bond,
but we both yearn for a resolution,
to put an end to this pain and right the wrongs.

Let us lay down our verbal swords and embrace each other with open hearts,
because we're not so dissimilar, you and I, we're just two souls trying to find our way.

Let us begin again, with patience and care,
listening to each other's deepest fears,
constructing a bridge of understanding, and bridging the chasm of our tears.

Because love is ultimately what unites us and what will bring about change.
