To Love and Live

Alvin P

Oh precious love, that fills my heart with a hymn
A love that's true, and ever-growing strong
For years I have loved her, with all my soul
But still I wonder, does she love me whole?

I see her smile, and feel my heart take flight
But then she speaks, and all my joy takes flight
For in her words, I find no hint of love
And so I'm left, to ponder and dream thereof in mystery

Oh cruelest fate, to love and not be loved To hold a torch, that never can be touched
Yet still I hope, and still I dream of her
This delicate flower I love, my dearest, sweetest catalyst

But if she loves me not, then I must go And find my peace, and let my love flow For though it hurts, to love and not be loved I'll find a way, to rise above

So if you love me, mystery
Reach out your hand, and let our love entwine
But if you cannot,
then I'll bid you farewell
And find a way,
to love and live as well
