The Two Ways

Tune: Breslau

('Take up thy cross, the Saviour said')

Matthew 7 v.12-14

*********

Therefore all things whatever you

Would that people would do to you

So do to them, this golden rule

Summarises law, [and] prophets all

Enter you in at the strait gte

It narrow be, this contemplate

For wide is the gate, broad the way

Therein path to destruction lays

But many do go in that gate

Because narrow gate it is strait

With difficulties, confinements

Yet be way to true contentments

And this strait gate does to life lead

Though there few that find it, it heed

Yet pursuing this way, Christ He

With us, and the Life, Truth, Way be

Wot - only a few get there? Sounds rough to me, but probably no worse than being in one of our traffic halts because an oversized truck has jammed in a tunnel. Result: sent on a diversion....😇!!!
