Mission Of The Messiah

Tune: Christchurch

('Now is eternal life')

Luke 7 v.17-23

*********

John's disciples one day

Came to Jesus, did say

John Baptist sent us to

You, to ask this of you

Are you the Messiah promised?

Or is there chance we have Him missed?

At that time Jesus cured

Many, healings assured

Infirmities, sickness

And evil spirits, this

His mission to teach, preach, and heal

To bring salvation and good weal* (*well-being)

And to many who blind

Gave gave sight, they did find

That they could see clearly

And Jesus said, So be

Go your way, you disciples, tell

Things you have seen, heard, know them well

How the blind see, lame walk

How the dumb freed, they talk

Lepers are cleansed, deaf hear

Dead raised, gospel preached here

Too the poor, and blessed are they who

Accept me, what I say and do
