THE BOSTON HIGHWAY

nephilim56

To the memories I give tears
To the future I give thought
To the highway that lies ahead
I give no bitterness or remorse.

Not even for another day
Do I want to live this way
Too wayward yet to kiss my soul
My step becoming shorter.

In alcohol I dream of things
Which when sober melt upon the wings
Of seraphs who in company keep
A choir with the rolling clouds
In fleeting judgement
Words aloud.

A fated dimness rides the walls
With shadows who weep amidst the calls
From angels who have lost their way
In violent passion of the day.

Eyes in hazy sorrow wait
In dreamy waves beyond the gate
Which leads to what..we cannot say
Upon the cobbles of this highway.
