Phases

Oluwakunle Adeyemo

The cry of children
Reminds me of people
Who sit just to ponder away
Parenting thoughts.

The laughter of children
Reminds me that
We all are lovers
And are to be loved.

The death of children
Tells of the fact that
Everyone owes a debt,
That is definitely to be paid.

The life of children
Portrays no worries
And tells the fact that
In simplicity is complexity.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I really love to look at children because of their innocence and joy. Their lives are so simple and they are lovely to be with at all times. Life generally is in phases, let's consider these phases using children. If we adults can live our life's considering the innocence of children, our world would definitely be a better place.
