THE HAND

nephilim56

Give me the hand
That I held when you were a child
Guiding you across the road to school
The hand that you trusted
Without doubt or care
Knowing I was there.

Now a man free of home
Drugs your only prayer
Taken away from us
From all you loved
For I will not watch you
Stumble and fall.

Hoping as I do
That a miracle will occur
Forcing you to be well again
So I can welcome you once more
Through this door
Give me your hand.
