Descartes Reborn

Kurt Philip Behm

If consciousness dies

is that all there is

or does some higher state

reimagine what was

When consciousness dies

will birth reoccur

no longer indentured

to time and its spurs

If consciousness dies

do rainbows of light

take over our essence

transcending our sight

When consciousness dies

is confusion bereft

as reference get buried

—and prescience resets

Assuming that your consciousness is the only consciousness is foolish, consciousness never dies,
it can only continue through all consciousness that is connected… ehh well that’s my take. Good poem

Thanks, it was written as a question because how do you know it never dies?

There's a difference between fact and belief.

If consciousness dies in the forest, does anyone hear it die? Consciousness is hard to fathom, and almost as hard to spell. Colorful take on the questions.

    divide conscious from intuition
    fraction thought within dreams
    multiply feelings by perspective
    then calculate
worth, in deliberating what comes after
before we fathom, what's needed in our now...
    consciousness is a thread, connecting
all that we are, to all we were
    and may yet still become..
    it's etymology, a derivative of humanity's zeal
    for sharing stories
    well then, dear Poet
    let's live life's
    worthy of tomorrow's story's
and let that be understanding enough
    for us
    (a Great write!
    I imagine in another consciousness
    sat at a subtle cafe
    maybe near Piazza della Signora
    in beautiful Florence
we could have a questing conversation
    so diversely resplendent
we would make the universe jealous...
    lol)

My favorite of your prescient poetic lines ...

      "let's live life's
      worthy of tomorrow's story's"
