Lies within Truth

Naubbit

Lies fogs my eyes and deafened my ears from truth,

Each speck of hope thickens the fog in view,

As rhetoric distance itself from reality,

Like a constant stream, time continues to flow.

Words that whispers in my ears,

Soothing me with false cheers,

With my eyes masked by the veil of fog,

While dreams offers the truth that drifts me away from the tangible reality of life.

Each twist and turn,

Bridging the gap of dreams and reality,

The two worlds that yield to human wants and needs,

What is the truth?

What is the lie?

  • Comment from author about the poem: Often in life, lies are mixed into the truth spoken by others. Who knows what is the truth nor what is the lie. But many times, we would still prefer to listen to those lies rather than the truth in order to keep our feelings from being hurt.
