A Poetic, Anything

L. B. Mek

Shallow cuts damage heart’s within smiles

Swirling winds cleanse Nature’s dew tears

Spring’s violins serenading restless spirits

A lifetime drenched in exalted syllables

A whispered aliveness anchored to a line

A phoenix mindset curating a scenic poem

Poesy unfurls wings within inking’s decadence

Poetry glides within strife, as solace to dreams

Poetic volition in surpassing fear’s limitations,

Wild budding scribbles as life’s wisdom hues

Do gather in our Poetry Day, salute

Smile creative eyes, invest in anything poetic

Pirouetting perspectives pursuing penning perfection

Ink my poetic kin, drink deep from our oldest art

Bravely, tattoo your will upon inspiration’s might

Let us meet, soaring within imagination’s heart!

This poem L.B. reminded me of my own inadequacies and humbled me. I had to reread it several times and each time a different interpretation occurred. Indeed shallow cuts can damage the heart and their smiles. I loved the term "dew tears" yes this poem seems to apply to people and nature. The next stanza brought to mind not only a personal lifetime but the whole evolution of language and the written word. How often in writing poems they are a Phoenix in that discarded words resurrect and are reincorporated in the final draft. Poetry as a means to many ends, whether self curative, inspirational, narrative, or just art for art is just that sensitivity put in art.

        sensitivity,
as derivative of caring too much
not such a bad thing, I think...
        thank you! insightful Poet
        glad you could relate

I assure you Mek that although I visited on the day in question, I was unable to leave anything behind until just now sir .. but believe me, I raised my glass throughout the evening in question and drank a toast to you, your pen and your every word ... Neville
