Burning, burning, burning me

Dr.Suryaraju Mattimalla

“Burning, burning, burning me
Caste is burning me.
Race is burning me.
Gender is burning me.
Ethnicity is burning me.
Class is burning me
War is burning me.
Rape is burning me.
Untouchability is burning me.
Violence is burning me.
Hate crime is burning me.
White is burning me.
Brown is burning me.
Queen is burning me
King is burning me.
Democracy is burning me.
Majoritarianism is burning me.
Totalitarianism is burning me.
Acid is burning me.
Right is burning me.
Left is burning me.
Their lies are burning me.
Their white skin and white masks are burning me.
Find me
Who I am burnt by every ideology
Say my name is untouchable in India.
Say my name is black in Europe.
I am burned by their ideologies.”

  • Comment from author about the poem: Personal experience with Asian, African, and European crimes against humanity against below-vulnerable groups. Asia, Africa, and Europe are sharing the spirit of the burning alive of most sub-subaltern communities in their places. For example, Untouchables in Asia, slaves in Africa, and blacks and gypsies in Europe are the most vulnerable communities and groups at the hands of brown and white. Dr.Suryaraju Mattimalla.
