My best friend is the Lord up above,
Who always shines upon us His unending love,
He never forsakes us, nor leaves us alone,
Even if some of our actions He cannot condone,
He is our Father in Heaven and will forever hold us in His mighty arms,
Protecting us from Satan and keeping us safe from evils harm,
Of course He allows times of trials and tribulations,
That is how we grow as believers and gain great patience,
My best friend will never leave me,
The Lord will guide me to the truth and open my eyes to see,
The strength of His love and overseeing eye,
Lifting us up and receiving us on high.
