I need a new home

-The poet in me

I've been writing on another poetry site

But now I need a new home

I went there seeking shelter

Somewhere where I didn't feel all alone.

And it was there where I met poets

Who were from all around the world

And my feathers grew within their view

As this poet I have in me unfurled.

You can call it a plunge or a leap of faith

It's time to give this mean old world a try

-The poet in me wants to spread his wings

Now that I have the faith that he can fly.

    from Bukowski's, cornered:
    'now
    they sit talking about
    me: “yes, it’s happened, he’s
    finished… it’s
    sad…”

“he never had a great deal, did
    he?”

    “well, no, but now…”

    now
    they are celebrating my demise
    in taverns I no longer
    frequent.

    now
    I drink alone
    at this malfunctioning
    machine

    as the shadows assume
    shapes
    I fight the slow
    retreat

    now
    my once-promise
    dwindling
    dwindling

    now
    lighting more cigarettes
    pouring new
    drinks

    it has been a beautiful
    fight

    still
    is'
    (fight strong, dear poet
enjoy the journey, do not be hasty
    let it all unfold, naturally
as it was meant to be
    whatever your rewards
    however bountiful or desperate
    invest in a mindset, acknowledging
    you gave it your best!
may you find the wisdom to realise
that's as good is it gets...)

      L. B.

On this journey that I am traveling
I want to leave behind but few regrets
So -The poet in me, and I agree
That he's about as good as it gets.

He don't walk around all spit and polished
There ain't a thang in the world he's got to prove
My poetry is the freedom that lives within him
And I hope to share some of it with you.

But his "good as it gets" hasn't got here yet
And I know that it's only a matter of time
He still leaves behind flaws in front of all yall
Because it's something he never hopes to find.

        indeed,
More power to your dream, dear poet kin
Keep that mighty Pen, defiantly roaring
till the end, may you too be blessed
        'with a most beautiful, fight!'

I hope to learn your name one day
          But for now, it's "BlessedbyGod"
I stand up straight and remove my cap
And lean forward and give you a nod.

I don't know how long I'll be here
Just wanted to stop by and take a look
Maybe I'll stick around a few more days
Or maybe I'll write enough to fill a book.

          • Peter Pan - The Rock

            Like Jim Morrison said...

            Quoting... "All poetry has wolves."

            Like everything in this life...

It can be used for good, right proper reasons.

            Or bad terrible reasons.

Like... a Bible, or a Tool, a Hammer, A knife.

Things have the use and intention you give them... as they always did.

A rock... can crush a nut, or crush a skull.

            Lies... usually never good.

But some minor lies, can be a lesser evil.

            Please do write a book.

            Write 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10...

            100

            1000

            A million...

            Write a gazillion books.

            You can...

            Well... maybe so... can I.

              Thank you Peter Pan
I hope in time you'll understand
That I also have a Patriot inside of me.

              I'll do what is right
              With all of my might
And hopefully in time you'll come to see.

              "The only thing necessary
For the triumph of evil "
Is for good men to never speak their mind.

              I look around these days
              And I am totally amazed
So "The Rock" may get to read it all in rhyme.
