One Size

kayla.terry

Crowded in a fitted shirt.

Too big, too small, not my style.

“One size fits all” but what size fits all?

Surrounded by long shirts and

Short shirts all to be classified as a shirt.

We wear the same shirt, but your shirt is

Not like mine. your shirt has tags, mine is faded with holes.

Compliments being thrown

Left and right on your shirt. you walk past with wandering eyes of disgust,

For my shirt is not like yours.

Defined just as a simple piece of clothing.

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem is something I wrote about girls in today's society. Girls are constantly being judged for not being "popular", or for having different interests as the majority of other girls. My poem "One Size" is representing that everyone wants to be the most "popular" girl.

This is a clunky read that goers nowhere.Who cares about the shirt you wear?

"One size," is a fallacy. No two people are alike, even twins have differences. Your poem paints a picture of the struggles women face in the bogus standards of today's judgmental society. This is a well written piece. Phil A.
