lost love

bertblack

In the stillness of the night,
I lay awake and hold tight
To memories of a love so true,
Of someone I have lost, and now I rue.

Their laughter echoes in my mind,
Their smile, their touch, so kind.
But now they're gone, and I'm alone,
My heart shattered, my spirit flown.

I search for them in every place,
Their warmth, their presence, I cannot trace.
My tears fall like an endless rain,
As I try to ease this endless pain.

But deep inside, I know the truth,
That they've gone to a place of eternal youth.
And though they're gone, they're not far away,
For in my heart, their love will always stay.

So I'll hold on to the memories we shared,
And the love we had, so pure and rare.
And though they're gone, they'll always be near,
For their love will live on, year after year.

i have read your poem and think its wonderfull how you use words to tell a story.
have a good day yourself and know that every tiny moment in life is something to cherish the good and the bad are all things that make you, you.
