The Road to Communism

Debake

morals were resolute
still turned out a prostitute
feelings and emotions in check
but for her body, she had no respect
living below the poverty line
watching with fear of economic decline
independent woman through capitalism
hard labor slave through communism
no rebellion, no revolt
the whole nation turned into a cult
little by little with every compromise
finally brought each party political demise
until came one man with power absolute
starved the people and left them morally destitute
bloodshed and people burned
all because trust was given and not earned

  • Comment from author about the poem: I was at work and thought how lucky I was for being born in America cause there are places in this world that are astronomically worse especially North Korea. The people there don't have electricity or basic knowledge of the world, and they are forced to worship their leader as a god. Multiple generations can go to concentration camps or even be killed because of one person's "mistake." They are starving over there. All in the name of communism
