Puppa goes on a Yacht.

David Wakeling

Puppa, is a Jack Russel Terrier,
He is white with tan markings.
One day the hole he was digging in the yard
was big enough for him to escape.
Living near the sea he headed for the Grimstone Yacht Club.
He jumped on the nearest Yacht.
It was the Lady Jayne II a two mast cutter.
He was trying to protect the boat from enemies.

As it does fate turned slowly. As he was barking at nothing
the tie rope loosened and he was drifting from the jetty.
Little Puppa didn’t notice at first because he was too
busy barking at invisible cats and other enemies.

As he floated out to sea it was clear that Puppa’s world
had become decidedly smaller and much more rocky.
Soon the sun went down and it became dark.
Puppa laid his head down and put his paws over his ears.
He could hear the thunder in the distance and didn’t like it.

The night grew darker and the lightening clashed.
Puppa crawled under a rubber mat and peeked out shyly.
He started whimpering. He was still afraid of the thunder.

The hours passed by and little Puppa went to sleep
dreaming of chasing cats in the warm summer breeze.
Next morning as the Sun rose he began his barking again.
Suddenly he stopped barking because two big hands
Picked him up and started looking after him.
It was his owner Mr Jeppers.
”Oh you silly dog don’t you no that people are sailors and dogs are dogs.”
he said grinning from ear to ear.

Dear David! Does it offend you if I said that this would make a lovely children's picture book?

I'm not offended at all.Actually there are other adventures that Puppa goes on.A children's book sounds good
