A Question of Waste

In a world of plenty

why are there so many children,

still going hungry ..

Good and needed point made mon ami. A question that should be put and answered by those who could make a difference and that means all of those living in the plentiful side of the world - including us....x

many mighty thanks dear lady of the word .. x

Yes - it's piling of butter mountains, etc. There's terrible waste around.
I admit Buddhists and some others may think about these things more than some Christians do, though some of them run Food Banks, Energy Banks, etc.

thanks for that Steven .. such recognition, insight & feedback muchly appreciated 🐧🔆

Meanwhile in Fantasy Land - it's KP's fault, she scoffs everything. She weighs about 30 stone now. Ain't no Botox can help that! lol.

might I suggest liposuction @ least to begin with

        • orchidee

Do they do liposuction - and literally lips - for old trouts?! I do go on. lol.

The use of the word "waste" in the title of the poem is significant, as it draws attention to the fact that the world produces more than enough food to feed every person, but much of it is lost or thrown away due to inefficiencies in the food production and distribution system. The poet implies that the problem is not so much the lack of resources but the failure to use them effectively

it seems we think similarly, thank you and kindly my friend

Dear friend you pose a question to which there should be a simple answer. We solve problems of technology everyday, have teams of experts and scientiests working to improve everything in our world, except the human condition. I question whether we have always been this way, or did we lose ourselves somewhere along the way. Thank you for these three lines of conscience and compassion, it is sorely missing in our world.

thank you for demonstrating your insight and sharing the love Bella 💚

Indeed N! There is no need for that. Sadly too many look the other way.

Apologies Neville - I've just deleted my commentary here which had no place under you neat shortie. I've taken it away to develop the argument and let it stand or fall under my own name.

You kind of lost me .. I think ... maybe .. I'm not quite sure possibly 🙂

                    makes me sad
                    how modernity celebrates
                    all those flaunting their wealth
                    and wasting billions
                    on supposed missions to Mars
                    yet 'OUR' children
                    are marginalised more n more
and left to fend for themselves...
                    (sobering to contemplate
                    that this succinctly worded
                    'wake up call'
will be relevant, till the end of time
                    still
                    thank you! dear Poet supreme
                    for boldly stating
what we all, try to willingly ignore!)

                    • Neville

                      Cheers bro 🙂
