Why Do I Love?

ForeverJesus7

Why do I love,

when it feels like I,

get nothing in return?

It seems as though,

all I do is care,

but when will it be my turn?

I'm always thinking,

of a new reason why I should.

Some of them are silly,

and some of them are good.

So I'll continue to show love,

and I'll continue to care.

I'm just done with getting,

so close to others,

but don't worry,

the passion is still there.

  • Comment from author about the poem: In the world we live in today, it can be hard to find a good enough reason to love and care for others. Still, as much as we may want to roll our eyes when we hear it, we must remember that the truth is: we love because Christ first loved us. Persistence is key
