Peace

David Wakeling

I did find peace, I found peace in my time.
I found it in the hazel eyes of the woman I love.
The raging tempest of everyday life faded to dust,
When I held her hand and the universe was mine.

The great white  wings of Love folded around us,
The joyous birds of tranquillity rose in the sky,
Like a thousand stars brighter  than fire.

Peace is not to found in a single heart beating,
But lives in the dreams of two minds becoming  one.
