Motion & Friction

A.C Doomcraft

The warmest fireplace could leave us destitute, The brightest star can see us blind, are we to live our days out in the dark?

the sweetest smiles come baring teeth,
love can wrench your heart up through your throat, Feeling hollow at the end means at least we once were whole.

Do Love and gifts mean everything?
The roads to Riches often lead to ruin
But If we're careful what we wish for,
Might miss a Blessing to behold.

Motion and friction,
Support and resistance,
W'ell work our blistered fingers to the bone, Marriage then children,
Save for the biggest television,
Chalk it up to life below the dome, Regardless our position,
The cosmic clock ticks on.

Indeed it does tick on...and the meaning of all this?? Life below the dome - I like that a lot.

I suppose its about relinquishing control, we can get so caught up in what negatives might happen that we avoid possible positive outcomes but maybe negatives are as valuable to us psychologically as positives, as an example "feeling hollow at the the end means at least we once were whole" means that although it hurts at the end at least you got to experience love in all its beauty and warmth, would it have been better never to experience it at all? just so you don't have to feel the sting of it ending, or was it all worth it to experience it? And why does it matter anyway?, whatever we do the universe ticks on, we are here very briefly to experience as many aspects of it as we can, negative or positive, why fight it?...at least I think thats what I meant 😆 and the dome can be earths atmosphere or our personal bubble that we live in, something that protects us while imprisoning us, the poem to me is the embodiment of the phrase "always fear regret more than failure", sorry for the long ass reply, its 9am here and I don't have much else on 😀
