Make this World a Melody worth Listening to

What is our purpose? How do we add to the world?

 

How do we get off our phones and romanticize life?

Life is much better when you’re lost in a book

While a candle is lit and sounds of nature fill your ears--

How do we make the highways slow down 

& absorb the nature they run passed at 80mph

 

Oh how I wish for these buildings to stop reaching up for the sun

I want us all to stop together

Right in our tracks and look around

I want the realization, the waking up from technology

To come to all, all at once.

 

No getting to that meeting is not more important

No paying this bill and that bill isn’t more important

Make these walls fall. Seek out nature and build anew.

Make homes from wood, roofs of moss, and love thy neighbor

Beautiful villages would sprawl out, we would only take what we need

Yet we run around letting technology and rules wrap around our minds

 

No time to think for ourselves.
