L. B. Mek

All Art

Begins at that same starting line

Inspiration, whispering

A feeling or destination, beyond

That we consider tangible

Yet in reach of realism’s, fingertip

The rest, is all excavation

Digging dip, further than we’ve ever

Traversed, within imagination’s

Unfathomable, yet innately intelligible

So then, dear poet kin

Rejoice at that blank canvas and let us all

Begin!

The poem reminds us that creating art is not always easy, but that it is always worth the effort.

        indeed, so true dear poet
worth the wait and all those waged wars
        with our delete button, lol

        • L. B. Mek

          nicely done, Hyung
who needs music when we can tap dance
in-time, to your musicality's poetic rhymes
          😁
          I think we'd make for a good tennis match-up
or a decent episode of chuckle brothers
          'to you, to me'
'what a pair of old fellas, we be'
          lol

L.B. So true. At times a spark appears, so trasitory,. If we can but catch it before it goes out. But then the work begins, to nurture it into a flame. Was it Einstein that said "it is one percent inspiration and nintynine percent perspiration"? How many times we loose the flame and have to start over from the ashes. Very nicely said dear poet.

great comment! how insightful kind friend
(ashes, yielding the best planting soil
            ask those once, lava fields
our canvas too, gifts that much more
            when we prevail, over those
binned efforts and continue to dream
of that one line or syllable
which brings it all together, like never before)
            lol
