Tune: Laudate Dominum
('O praise ye the Lord')
Luke 21 v.34-38
*********
Take heed to yourselves, these Jesus' word be
Let not hearts be taken up completely
With surfeiting, carousing, nor drunkenness
But ready for His return, His witnesses
And take heed too that cares of this life, they
Distract you not from His returning day
If so, His return shall come, you unaware
Until Christ in person appears to you there
For as a snare that day shall come to all
That dwell on the earth it shall come, not stall
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be
Not off guard, but wait patient, diligently
Pray that you may be accounted worthy
To escape things that at end times shall be
The troubles and perils, and to be able
To stand before the Son of man, with no fall

those who are desperate to be prepared for every eventuality are often, paralysed by their very own fears .. 🐧
Thanks Neville. Now it's like KP and I. I was not ready to marry her. So it was true for me: 'To fail to prepare is to prepare to fail!' Doh!
So hypothetically he turns up - can I get back to surfeiting, carousing, and drunkenness now, please?
I want none of this surfeiting, carousing, drunkenness, nor carryings-on, says Fido! lol.
Put Fido under the table when we go to the Welcome Home dinner (sorry didn't he have a Going Away Supper as well?)....getting a bit much...I can only keep my weight down with some carrying on....
