The Price of a Single Soul

The Price of a Single Soul

Although by no means

perfect ..

She waved a mean

chalice

on the dark side of the

chancel ..

And despite it being so

tarnished, wore

her heart on her sleeve

beneath a

breastplate of feathers ..

Yes, the witch

she gave us seven moons

but only a single

seed with which to play ..

Just how many

hurts, are you prepared

to share tho’

she asked, if I should let

you have

your way with me today ..

A single fuck

is all I ask, by way of trade

for that soul

of yours kind sir, seems

like a fair

and fine, exchange to me ..

Bit of a strange thing to ask for, in exchange for one's soul - swoon! lol.
KP and I never have any 'ardour' stuff!

there are numerous myths and legends that pre-date even your good furry self sir that have their very foundations underpinned by such a deal to being struck .. 🐧

''The Price of a Single Soul" is a well-crafted and thought-provoking poem that uses powerful imagery and themes to explore the complexities of desire, temptation, and the cost of one's soul.

            'And despite it being so
            tarnished, wore
            her heart on her sleeve
            beneath a
            breastplate of feathers ..'
            that's just, soul crushing
depths of poetic empathy, to contemplate
            brilliantly worded, dear Poet
(we trip and fall, call it a love
            draped
            in lust's quick drying cement
            then try
to build a house, on foundations
            of waste
at divorce time, we place it for sale
            split profits evenly
a shattered soul for you and one for me
            give it Time
we'll recover, enough to try and fall
            Up
            ...once again!)

            • Neville

falling upwards has been a long time personal objective of mine .. cheers brother Mek
