If the Next Was the Last

hacklec

If the next door you locked

would never be opened by you again

If the next belt you buckled would never be tightened

around you again

If the next shoelace you tied was the last one

Would we pause

and wonder

what the worry was for?

If the next was the last

I’d start opening doors
