April Affair

Fay Slimm.

April Affair.

This misty green morning

of tender Spring rain

muffles cacklings and

noisy  squarkings

as jackdaw-songs ruffle

quiet air with loud

raucous  chatterings.

Helloes from every male

ego croaks overtone

tunes to nearby lady-bird

shyness as makings

of nestings appear

with twiggy-thin gifts

collected with care

and dropped at feet

with unique bird-speak

for an April affair.

Orchestrated cacophony

played out with force

of pre-mating offers

each time the same

when call of Spring

urges arise again

by first of April.

Nature in April, always seems to be bursting with love and new life. You capture it so beautifully dear friend that I can almost hear those calls and chatterings, "It's time". Thank you for this Spring gem!
