fifteen minutes of forever

theroadnottaken

it seems as though I've been alone, forever

laying here on her bed, forgotten

water gone, long gone

stomach empty - I can't remember the last time I had food.

she should be thankful:

a scary man came to put stuff through

that hole in our door, but don't worry

I scared him off.

and the squirrels too.

house guarded, thanks to me,

nothing but myself

she just can't leave like that and...

wait.

what's that.

the door

is opening?

a scent.

familiar...

fills my nose.

mom?

mom!

my body wiggles as I say

"HI wherehaveyoubeen everything'sgreataroundhere youwouldnotbelievewhatI'vebeenthrough."

she shows me her teeth and says

"I've only been gone 15 minutes."

yeah whatever -

15 minutes is practically forever, right?
