Hanging On - Daisie-Lyn Fuller

Daisie-Lyn Fuller

I’m hanging on, waiting patiently
The clock ticking arrogantly
Letting precious moments roll by
I’m not meant to feel like this, I’m so young
and I can’t possibly be going through this
But I am, and I’m hanging on.

I’m hanging on, by a thread
It’s been 8months, and nothing has been said
I told her eventually, allowed her into my twisted, naïve mind
No one can help me, I’m in a complete state, utterly delusional
But I’m here, I’m hanging on.

I’m hanging on, barely.
The therapy’s not working, no drink is strong enough to flush these thoughts
Nothing and no one is helping, I’m fully alone
I think it’s time to let go, to left him win
But I’m here for a reason, so I hang on.

Deep thoughts DLF. The road to happiness is taken one step at a time. I'm 83 and still have stuff to work on. Nice poem.

Thankyou so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed my poem, even in my youth I have experienced a fair few things, I can only imagine your poems are full of experience as well! Continue writing your story always x
