Foolish Boy

S.Sinclaire

The agony I feel, I wonder if you feel it too?

The promises you made, of a forever love, you broke one rainy day,

After you said I was the one.

And I can't help but wonder, did you ever even love me?

Or was I just that naive?

Were you just playing games and I, a young fool in love, blind to everything?

We used to have eyes only for each other,

And now you won't even look in my direction.

Standing in front of a mirror, I can't bear to look at my own reflection;

The marks you left on my body haven't faded yet;

These marks that once reminded me of your love now only bring pain.

The affection in your eyes, was it all in my head?

When you sang me that love song, was it all pretend?

I trusted you and placed my heart in the palm of you hand;

You cherished it for a while but then I saw firsthand;

That angelic face isn't quite as it seems;

You promised me a diamond ring but in the end it was all just a pipe dream.
