Self Deception

Firefall

How can I tell you that which I won't admit to myself
The truth that lies buried in the depths of my heart
The feelings that I try to hide and suppress
The longing that I can't deny or confess

How can I tell you that which I won't admit to myself
The words that are stuck in the back of my throat
The thoughts that I keep locked away in my mind
The dreams that I chase only when you're not around

How can I tell you that which I won't admit to myself
The fear that holds me back from taking a risk
The doubt that clouds my judgment and vision
The pain that I endure for this unspoken mission

How can I tell you that which I won't admit to myself
The love that burns brighter than any star
The hope that keeps me going despite the odds
The wish that someday you'll see me as more than a friend
