The Sound of Bob Dylan.

David Wakeling

I was once a clown, I was once a King,
But it don’t mean a thing,
If you got nothing to bring ,
To the table.

I lead the people, I lead the team,
But it was all a magician’s dream,
So in the end I just had to scream,
Some ancient fable.

The whistle blows and the train is gone,
The box car men are headed for the Sun.

So don’t go down the alley where I hide,
You won’t find the man who lied,
Just a ghost of the boy who died,
At the wishin’ well.

Stay the course of the righteous clan,
There aint no way to save a drownin’ man,
If he sealed his fate before he began,
On his way to Hell.

The whistle blows and the train is gone,
The box car men are headed for the Sun.

Maybe change the form of your sentence structure here and there
    ie:
Gone is the train , timely lament delivered partnered w shrieking whistles refrain
