Die Hanteln sind traurig

Olaf Gatermann

Translation (sorry that the rhyme got lost):

The dumbbells are sad if no one lifts them,

The hair is sad if no one combs it.

The flowers are sad if no one waters them,

the books are sad if no one reads them.

The chairs are sad when no one sits in them,

The sauna is sad when no one sweats.

The trainers are sad when no one runs any more,

the whisky is sad when no one drinks any more.

The loom is sad when no one weaves any more.

The earth is sad when no one lives any more.

"The earth mourns and fades away, the world languisheth and fades away, the haughty people of the earth languish.
