Little daughter
Have you grown tall?
Can you still make me proud?
Or I can regret having fathered you
Remember what I told you?
You are a unique vessel
That is priceless than gold
Different from all common vessels
Remember what I told you?
You are a rare gem
Like a blue rose
So, don't ever go on a begging price
Did you get me right dear?
I didn't mean you to look down on your fellows
But having that fairer pride
By sticking to your own values
Little daughter
Your body cannot be an investment
Rather, let thy brain be
A true foundation of good investment
Should you, think of following the world
Remember you are so unique
Should you think of going around the world
Remember you are a blue rose
Little daughter
Be innovative
Not a replica though
I want to be a proud father
Little daughter
Can you make me smile?
Can you make me laugh?
Please, don't ever make me want to cry

this be worded excavation
of that excruciating tightrope in parenthood
are children
born for a parent's approval and enjoyment?
or
are they a gifted surprise, free to be who they want?
a human being, an adult
in the making
and parent's, mere guardians
entrusted to help and nothing else..
such a well considered and intimate poem
thank you! wise poet

Thank you for having time to read it...
A father's advice to his daughter. I really enjoyed reading it. It is thoughtful.
Thank you!
