Don't Look Me In The Eyes

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

Please, don't look me in the eyes

Where my vulnerability lies

I don't intend to make ties

The knot I may regret when time flies

My eyes do make some sparks

So eye to eye can be dangerous

Always afraid of electrocution

Such that it be my precaution

When I look down, I'm shy maybe yes

Though my precaution not to fall into the sea

Because I don't know about swimming

Always afraid of drowning

Such an unintended fall

Makes one to fall deep

Deeper, then sooner afloat but carried away

Later, only the dead to float the other way

It's good to be wise with our eyes.
