I’ve always known I’m different
I’ve never been the “bad kid”
The smartest or the class clown
I’ve never been miss popular
Just the one that hangs around
Most people have their circles
But I’m outside reaching in
I’ve got my hand stretched out
Hoping for a win
I’m often close to “miss popular”
But not her group of friends
I swear I’ve tried to get to know them
But they won’t let me in

A lot of those early bloomers fade with age. The late one have to longevity.
Maybe one or two close friends, if not in a group?
a relatable read, thanks for sharing
The poem effectively captures the feeling of being an outsider and the desire to be accepted by others. The simple language and relatable themes make it a powerful piece that many people can identify with.
Thank you!
Fear not Primrose, you're not alone, as those circles need to reach out as we reach in. 😉
