My Sunset

Dan Christian

Seeing you gaze at the west

cherish the west, for it paints your lovely sunset

with bursts of orange and red,

as a silhouette longingly meanders in your stead.

A beautiful sunset

where everyone's amazed,

yet my eyes are on you

let's meet at the sunset

to taste the sun on our skin

and hold our hands on our promises

You're always my favorite sunset

your touch, your presence, and your soul

Mesmerize me and entangle me completely

If I had but one ambition, one utter goal

It would be stay by your side for eternity
