I Met Rain

Kirabo Anthony

At the childhood of Today,

As I rode to the winds of pleasure,

I met the drops...;

They slapped me and hugged,

Smiled and welcomed me.

It was such a reality

That I shall tell with a litote

In the fate am not to procrastinate,

That I met rain and thus the tone

From desert to swamps.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I Met Rain, it doesn’t mean meeting the actual rain. Rain rather symbolize the hardships one meets as he or she tries to search for true love. Pleasures here, symbolize true love and true person. Today’s childhood symbolizes the period of falling in love. And the tone, the gradual effects of the hardships.
