Pantomime Phases

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Are we at the end pages?
Is the world going through final stages?
More like pantomime phases
Emergency alert text services
Just fearmongering
Being done on purpose
To make everyone feel nervous
Switched it off on my phone and tablet
Then fall asleep to a beat and just forget
Locks your device and awaits acknowledgement
Call me paranoid but it seems suspect

    so true, dear poet
    (what use, a warning
    when warheads, armed
    with our inevitable endings
    are half-way to our doorstep
    instead of such silly, antics
    dear 'concerned' government
    how about, you address
    the little things, that wreck
    our everyday
    like, say - addressing
    those endless, sirens
    serenading, our bombarded state
    of enforced, homestays
we need no more flames of fear
    to, fear
we go to sleep, reading lullabies
    to our kids
    with a white noise, backdrop
    of screams
    and those ever-belated, sirens
    destined for spending cut's
    too late, arrivals
    how about, that
    do something about, that
warn us, when it will be our turn
    to witness that next mugging
    stabbing or senseless murder
    on our doorsteps!!!
    use all those cameras
    for something, other than
    chasing down car tax fraudsters
    how about, trying
    to save a life
    for a change???
    eh... dear 'concerned' government
    you fck'n parasites!'

Reminds me of the very old joke - Instruction in the Case of Disaster: 'When the alarm sounds, bend over, put your head between your legs, and kiss your bum good bye'.
A dose of cynicism well placed, C.

Haha! Yes, it is very weird what they are doing. Pathetic times we are living in.
