Happiness

lonelydove

What is happiness?

And why can’t I have it?

Everyone always talks about it,

Like a new sneaker just released

“Limited in stock”

But I’m always out of luck.

Stuck in line.

Getting closer and closer

to this sweet happiness

Only to be pushed 10 steps back

Emotions being toyed with

Like puppets on strings

Pushed and pulled with no control

Stuck waiting

“Step off the line”

They say

An easy choice

Give up on happiness

Why should I?

Why is happiness limited?

Everyone deserves a slice of it

To taste it

To savor it

Happiness

Given samples of it

But it never lasts

People longing for it

Like water in a dessert

Addicted to it

Every vein craving

the needle

Containing happiness

People dying

Society burning

Over this one thing

Happiness

Will it last forever?

Or is it just temporary?

Wanting to feel it’s golden touch

I’m still waiting in line.

For Happiness is worth waiting for

No matter how long

It entrances me

I found happiness by making one less thing more hurt less each day. After peeling back so much pain and allowing the sadness flow out, happiness started shining through.

There are many forms of happiness. Some are small slice of the larger pie. The greatest of all is love, You may find a degree of happiness in your studies or your writing. Maybe among friends. Eventually, love will come to you. And when it does all things will seem better. Keep on writing. - Phil A.
