MATERIALISTIC

nephilim56

Whispers at midnight
Do you remember my words
Hot breath to your ear
In the cold Winter air ?

You spoke of a dream
Do you carry it still
As you enter your Thirties
Amphetimines and gin?

And those who desired you
Where their words just the same
Or did my poetry bring you
Pleasure or shame?

When you lay with your man
In your middle class home
Do my words cut you deeply
To the heart or the bone ?
