Love Found and Lost

After you came into my life,

Hope bloomed like a flower in spring,

You made me trust someone again,

And believe in love's sweet sting.

 

Your love was a soothing balm,

That healed my broken heart,

I opened myself up to you,

And let love do its part.

 

You made me feel alive again,

With your laughter and your smile,

I loved you more than words could say,

And you made life worthwhile.

 

But now you're gone, and I'm alone,

And my heart is filled with pain,

I trusted you with all my soul,

But you left me in the rain.

 

I thought our love was meant to last,

But I guess I was wrong,

Now I'm left with memories,

Of a love that's come and gone.

 

But even though you've left me now,

I'll always be grateful for,

The hope and trust and love you gave,
