A fight ongoing
Not overseas, on foreign soils
International waters unbloodied
A fight at home
Me vs. You
Us vs. Them
Red vs. Blue
Thanksgiving Turkey split
Bone broken in half
Everyone’s wrong in the eyes
Of him who is undoubtedly right
Far sides of the table
Not content with themselves
Silence in the middle
Afraid and unwilling
To even try to speak
Over cacophonous speech
Which hurts the throat
