Yes, of course, you can travel to before beginning, but without actually leaving the present time. It's called transcendence.

My time travel is pretty mundane... I go from morn to night...but truly I time travel every day in a more transcendent way, reading Homer, Cervantes, Chaucer, and Kafka. There I am before the gates of Troy, in a Spanish barn, or bouncing on my donkey on my pilgrimage.
