I Pledge No Allegiance

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

I pledge no allegiance
To the leader of elite legions
World Economic Forum demons
England in these times seems full of sorrow
The King will be crowned tomorrow
The monarchy needs stopping
Their money keeps topping
Nah, I can't say I'll be watching

    what's a royal
    but a wording of privilege
    and yet, so many
are born to a privileged state
    so what to do
hate them all, in defiance of fate
    pouting for not being born
    in a similarly advantageous circumstance..?
if it works for you, as it does for most
    that's perfectly fine and commendable
    while I, have learnt
to value any individual, as just that
    an individual
even if part of a greater, evil
    till that person does something
    to justify, my dislike
I shall not hate, for the sake of hate
    Royalty
    modernity, distilled
as that easy target of harnessed, hate
    from politicians to clerics
striving to convey it, as that symbol
    of our collective hate
    but
    this same, royalty lineage
gifted us, that brave Elizabeth the 1st
    that steadfast, Elizabeth the 2nd
    and that exemplar sublime
    of empathy and motherly love
    now remembered as that legacy
of a most beloved, Queen mother
and that first, herald of liberty for all
    signed by King John
a conduit to that democracy, we all
still aspire to realise, till this date...
    so yes
the king to be, has a horrid taste
in choosing a partner, (poor Diana)
and his brother, is filth incarnate
who should be rotting in jail
and his youngest son, has been brainwashed
    by a failed actress
    but, Charles
is till afforded my ounce of trust
    by his legacy of progressive
    and life affecting, endeavours
    so, no
    dear cherished Poet
I do not resent him, his day
after 60 odd years of waiting
    and yet
I too, will not be watching that farce
    I love my blighty
so i'll toast to the new king, hope
it's a good omen for our country
a conduit to a Time of peace
    and prosperity for us, All
then go-non about my survival fight
    as life...
    'The Queen is dead
    Long live the King'
    cheers, n all that malarkey
    🍻
(thanks for the extra bank holidays)
