- Comment from author about the poem: I first discovered minimal haiku or ku in a quarterly publication called Modern Haiku in the late '90s and have written many like this one or other forms of modern poetry that have appealed to me. I am 85, active, a recent widower enjoying the rest of my life, constantly searching for new types of poetry.
