a lover's belief

lisztmsv

when i was young & small,

i didn't know you then.

there were things i wished for then,

much like a best friend.

hoping to be held & just be

towards eternity.

as years passed

i aged as the summers went

& countless loves destroyed me then.

i found myself praying for tenderness

& a love that couldn't be bested.

inches above me, myself, & I,

you only cared about saying hi,

as we exchanged words of conversation

& time well spent,

i found myself wishing that it would never end.
