Social Isolation Senior Citizen Blues

Well here I am.... a retiree pushing 70

No longer working in a lumber re-man shop facility.

My wife had a heart attack just weeks before Christmas

And also had to retire early

And is now undergoing physical therapy.

I was in hopes that my wife and I can hit the road and go back up to places up north once again

Back up to Mackinac Island, the Soo, and the Wisconsin northwoods wonderland.

Hoping we both could re-kindle the flame

And be passionate lovers once again.

And for my sons to marry-up with a pretty-sweet catholic girl

And to be blessed with grandkids all around us

And to share family photos and memories before reaching the top of the hill.

Before the both of us pass away.

But it's not gonna happen...sad to say.

My wife's heart attack led her to carpal tunnel

And she undergoes physical therapy weekly

She wants me to downsize back to one car

And she doesn't want me to drive outside of the city too far

Adding "insult to the injury"

Because of my dementia which she fears down the road that it may worsen quickly.

(sob!)
