Out Of Trust

Robert Isaacs Chiwala

My heart still nursing some wounds

Love I heard -never felt

The trust I gave never earned

Should it be given not earned?

People we believe in

Innocent face more deceiving

Kind words not for real

Hags and kisses just for show

The paths that are hidden

Creeping ways concealed

Lest trust will be ruined

And love going on separate ways

Trust is never given always earned

Through steps that are kept straight

Voices separate from lies

And smiles so sincere, no pretence

When trust is merely given

Lies become convincing truths

Creeping ways become too straight

Honesty is always one sided
